2011 National Gallery Victoria Acquisition
Motherland acquired by Victorian Foundation for Living Australian Artists
In 2011 the National Gallery of Victoria acquired two lace lengths and a suite of lace postcards. The Victorian Foundation for Living Australian Artists funded the acquisition. Over the last decade the fund has acquired 380 works demonstrating the diversity and rigour in Australian Art practice today.
The lace works were showcased in Negotiating this World: Contemporary Australian Art, an exhibition commemorating a decade of Australian Art held at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV.
Lace Lengths Materials: silk duping and organza, silkscreen printing, machine stitching on a soluble ground.
Dimensions: 700 mm wide x 2200 mm height

Materials: Silk, cottons, photo transfer, rust, natural dyes, antique lace, machine stitched onto a soluble substrate. Dimensions: 18.5 cm x 16 cm
