2007 Powerhouse Lace Acquisition

UTS DAB:LAB gallery, September 3-20, 2007

Laced is a textile panel inspired by the original lace curtain motifs I designed for Government House Sydney. In the lace curtains, the leaf motif was woven as lace netting; however, in this work, I have abstracted the image to create a new lace pattern. The work was exhibited in 2007 at the UTS DAB:LAB gallery with a catalogue launch. The Powerhouse Museum acquired the piece, process work, and drawings for the Government House lace commission.

Materials: Organza silk, silk screen printing, machine stitched onto a soluble substrate. Dimensions: 65 cm x 170 cm
